KULAPATI K. M. MUNSHI
Bhavan’s Founder President (1887 - 1971)
The personality of a child takes shape in their growing years. The trusting atmosphere of love and encouragement in the school is important for the overall growth of a child.
Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya was founded by Shri. R.Vasudevan Pillai and Mrs.Santhi Balagopalan in the year 1989. The school aims to provide an atmosphere of love and trust so that each child can grow up to be socially, emotionally and intellectually a stronger person.
The school focuses on the overall development of a child giving equal importance to Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic activities.
Born in Baruch in 1887, KM Munshi studied at Baroda (today Vadodara). He was vastly influenced by his teacher Sri Aurobindo Ghosh. His political inclinations first took the revolutionary path, then Home Rule and later on Gandhian Satyagraha. He led by example in the social changes that he believed in. The best example is that he married a widow when was promoting widow remarriage.Post independence, he served the nation in official capacity as the Governor of Uttar Pradesh from 1952 to 1957.
We read and hear a lot about success mantras and about the paths that lead to success.Ultimately ,whom do we call successful? Well , it can be very subjective. To some, success could mean material progress, to others spiritual enlightenment or even creating right circumstances .The list can be endless. But these lines by Ralph Waldo Emerson convey what finally matters...
Scholastic and co scholastic achievements are motivations not only to the children but also to the teachers who lead them to achieve this… Every single achievement is a milestone accomplished and no work goes without a word of appreciation… The school has been taking its success stories far …
The school hosts and conducts both Intra- House and Inter -School competitions to bring out the innate talents of children in literary, cultural and sports events. A plethora of activities, unfolds the latent skills of children even in challenging areas like Science Fair and Quizzes. It gives us immense pleasure to unfold these …..
Proper and Effective way of planning helps any individual to pursue and accomplish their goal.. This is the success mantra of Adarsha ….
The annual calendar is the reflection of the day to day activities of the important days, academics, reminders for examinations and various other programmes of the school events. In short, the way how Adarsha leads itself every day….
At Aarsha each day opens a new horizon of experience and insights . We try to kindle the spirit of inquisitiveness and ’ indianess’ in every child . The green environment of Adarsha provides the right ambience to each and every child to nurture their talents and attain their dreams. That is a good enough reason to make them smile.
It was a morning as any other. I was making my way to the class that day, had to pass through a passage which separates two buildings. This is the little place that I love the most in the school. It is lined with an array of trees which houses many local birds, squirrels and some beautiful butterflies- it is the oxygen belt of 'Adarsha’ and I make sure that I walk this way up and down a couple of times a day even though it meant taking a longer route to my classes. Today was a mystic, an other worldy experience. As I was on my way to the class, the routine relaxation mantra of 'OM’ was playing on the public addressal system in the school. I got stranded on this passage lined with trees, I stood there confounded by the sounds that caught my ears. Hundreds of crickets were singing in harmony with the meditating chants of 'OM’. I think , I had an epiphany that moment, a realisation of how nature has its own way.
I ask myself, Whether the crickets have been disciplined to sing in chorus, during the routine 'OM’ chanting every morning or Was it the nature's way to be in the moment or Were the crickets singing in unison, to let them be heard - a final cry before the trees are all fell down ?
