PLAYING WITH HEART

Adarsha Cup Inter School Soccer Tournament 2020 organised by Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya was inaugurated by Smt. C V Seena, International Football Player on February 11th 2020.

Fourteen Schools in and around Kochi are participating in the three day event. The teams are in high spirit to win the title by playing their heart out.

Sri E Ramankutty presided over the function. Sri Vishu S N, PTA President,Sri K Suresh, Principal, Smt. Kalyani N P, Vice Principal were also present.

SUCCESS EARNED

The three day Adarsha Cup Inter School Football Tournament ended on a grand note with Rajagiri Public school, Kalamassery emerging as the winners. Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura raised the Runners up trophy. The participants were at their best exhibiting the spirit of competition and dynamism. The audience witnessed the most spectacular and vibrant of matches. The Chief Guest of the day, Dr. Varughese C Abraham, Principal, Bhavan’s College of Arts and Commerce addressed the gathering and felicitated the winners. Sri K. Suresh Principal and Smt Kalyani N.P, Vice Principal graced the occasion.

Breathe with a different kind of happiness..

‘Children are a treasure of hidden talents and new ideas’.
This saying was proved rightly by the art and craft exhibition, ‘Anguli Sparsham’ organised by the Work Experience department of Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad on 7th February 2020.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri E Ramankutty, Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kochi Kendra.  A spectrum of colours blended with the creativity of the students has been put up on display. A variety of art works, crafts, paintings, sketches, pastel colouring, water colour painting, collage work, and eco-friendly products made out of waste produced by students during the academic year has been exhibited to depict and promote the rich aesthetic sense. The highlight of the exhibition is the Warli Paintings done by the budding artists and the teachers of the department on the walls of the venue.
Surely the exhibition proves very beneficial for the art world and these creative ideas will always begin to bloom for the development of the nation.

31st Annual Day

STAGE SET ON FIRE!!!

Bhavan’s AdarshaVidyalayacelebrated its 31st Annual Day on February 1st 2020 with much elation and gusto.

The spectacular day of primary and secondary was inaugurated by Dr. Rajagopala Nair, Dean, Bhavan’s Royal Institute of Management and Dr. K N Madhusoodanan, Vice-Chancellor, CUSAT respectively.

The celebration witnessed the amalgamation of various hues such as dance, mime, skit, and drama and music band. The audience was captivated by the enchanting performances of the little stars and the soulful symphony of the budding musicians.

Home is a primary need for human life. As part of Bhavan’s Flood Relief Housing Project 2019 which aims at housing the homeless, a new house was constructed and the key was handed over to Smt. Thankamani C K, non teaching staff of Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya by Sri E Ramankutty, Director Bharatiya vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra on 27th January 2020. Sri K Suresh, Principal and Smt. Beena, Head, Kindergarten, graced the occasion.

ALL WRAPPED UP!!!

Spreading the message of love and joy Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated Christmas with absolute delight and enthusiasm on 20th December 2019.

Rev.Dr. Prasant Palakkappillil, Principal, Sacred Heart College, Thevara was the chief guest of the day and delivered the Christmas message. The entire school vibrated with the echoes of Christmas carols and witnessed a play portraying the story of the legend Santa Claus, the spirit of Christmas and the birth and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the sake of humanity.

The school wore a festive look with bells, streamers, balloons and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children. PTA President, Sri Vishu S N and Principal, Sri K. Suresh graced the occasion.

37th DR.K.M.MUNSHI MEET

The two-day long37th DR.K.M.MUNSHI MEMORIAL CBSE INTER SCHOOL ATHLETIC MEET commenced on December 9th 2019 at Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad.,Sri C.A Venugopal. C.Govind,Chairman,BharatiyaVidyaBhavan,KochiKendra addressed the gathering and declared the meet open at 8:30 a.m. The venuereverberated with enthusiasm at the assembly of around 1400 athletes from 34 CBSE schools across the state. To complement the vigour of the day which was full of spirited sporting events, the participants of all the 34 schools presented a disciplined March Past. The studentsof Bhavan’sVidyaMandir,Elamakkara rendered the prayer.Sri K.Suresh, Principal, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya delivered the address of welcome. The Chairman hoisted the sports flag. He inspired the athletes to set goals and be focused in life.Sri E.Ramankutty,Director,BharatiyaVidyaBhavan,KochiKendralit the torch which symbolises the light of spirit, knowledge and life. This was followed by an oath taking ceremony by ChinmayiMukundan, student of Class X who represented India in the Common Wealth Games 2018.The athletes took an oath pledging to put their best foot forward and not to resort to unfair means and try their best to be true to the spirit of honesty and sportsmanship.A dynamic and vibrant display by the students of Bhavan’sVidyaMandirGirinagar was a feast for the  eyes.Sri E.Ramankutty,Director,Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,Kochi Kendra,Smt Meena Viswanathan,Academic Consultant,Smt.Renuka.N.Menon and Smt.Sukumari Menon,Education Officers ,Smt Jaya Jacob,Co-ordinator,Research Centre, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,Kochi, Principals and Vice Principals of all Bhavan’s Institutions were part of the occasion. Carnatic Music Concert

Transmitting the Power of Music!!

 As part of the Cultural Outreach Programme, jointly organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, Spic Macay and PTA, the staff and students of Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, were enthralled by the Carnatic Music Concert and Lecture Demonstration by Vidhushi Smt.Sudha Raghuraman on 3rd December 2019.

 The live Carnatic musical performance was a perfect blend of mind, soul and body. The association of Navarasas and different Ragas was the highlight of the concert.The spontaneous improvisation by the musicians and the singer was noteworthy. The show punctuated with an explanation of the timeless principles of music. The programme truly made the audience believe that Music is the universal language of mankind.

Sri Unni Warrier, coordinator, Spic Macay and Sri Raj Mohan Varma, Coordinator, Kala Bharathi, Kochi, Sri Vishu S, PTA President and Sri K Suresh, Principal, graced the occasion. The programme made the children experience the richness and mysticism embodied in Indian heritage.

 Bhavan’sAdarshaVidyalaya was blessed to witness ‘Tholpaavakoothu’by the students of Mridulasparsham Charitable Society, Tripunithura on 3rd December 2019.

Tholpavakoothu, or Shadow Puppetry, a unique art form of Kerala was performed using leather puppets in the ambience of light and darkness depicted the life of Mahatma Gandhi and the triumph of light over darkness. The performance made the audience spell bound. The lyrical dialogues and the visual effects made this more captivating than a 3D film.

 Founders of Mridulasparsham school, Captain Gopalakrishnan and Smt. Nithya Menon, Sri Rajmohan Varma, coordinator, Kalabharathi, and Principal, Sri K Suresh graced the occasion.

Bhavan's Cultural Fest

In the 23rd All Kerala Bhavan's Cultural Fest, Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya,Kakkanad bagged the overall trophy for category I-IV and in category I-V. We were the champions of category I,III,& IV. Kumari. Anaswara Ramesh was adjudged as the Bhavan's Jyothi and Master. Vishal S J as Bhavan's Prathibha in category III.

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated Children's Day, the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru with great pomp and joy. The first Prime Minister of independent India gave emphasis to the significance of giving love and affection to children and considered them as the bright future of India.

The superstars of Adarsha, Kumari Anaswara Ramesh, recipient of  Bhavan's Jyothi and Master Vishal S J, recipient of Bhavan's Prathibha in the 23rd All Kerala Bhavan's Fest 2019, Category III were the chief guests of the morning assembly. Chachaji, Master Nithin A P addressed the students and delivered a message.

 A fancy dress competition was held for the tiny tots of class I and II. Sweets were distributed to all Adarshites.

VARAYUM NAATTUMOZHIYUM

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya organized 'VARAYUM NAATTUMOZHIYUM', a musical performance by Artist Sri Satkala Vijayan and his team as part of Kerala Piravi celebrations. It was a blend of Folk songs, traditional instruments and sketching. Distilled from the emotions and simple wisdom of rustic folk, the songs conveyed the relevance of protecting nature.

Sri Hari Tripunithura, Sri Sachidananda Pai, Sri Venugopal, Sri Pushpadas, and Sri Hari were the other performers. The astounding performance enthralled the audience.

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya conducted the much awaited Annual Sports Meet on Friday 8th  November 2019,with great zest, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The chief guest Mr. George Thomas, Badminton Player, recipient of Arjuna Award 2002, inaugurated the meet and emphasised on the importance of sports in a student's life. The chief guest hoisted the flag and took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with some stirring marching music by the band. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports Captain.  The cauldron was lighted by the sports champions of Adarsha after the Torch Relay. An energizing yoga display, Karate performance and aerobics set the tone for the rest of the events.

Navarathri, a major festival held in honour of the goddess Durga, the divine feminine was celebrated with gusto at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, T.D. Road. Sri Venkitaraman, Chief Accounts Officer, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan inaugurated the event. The programme commenced with an instrumental fusion and classical concert by the students. It was followed by a splendid dance drama titled 'Sri Kannakeeyam'.  Principal Sri K. Suresh and Vice Principal Smt Kalyani N.P were present.

Bhavan's  Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, celebrated the Grand Parents Day with great delight and reverence. The Chief Guest, Sri K V Anilkumar, Retired Joint Director,State audit dept also a poet, inaugurated the celebration and addressed the gathering. Class I students evinced their love to their grandparents by performing Padapooja. The retro songs rendered by grandparents evoked a nostalgic air among the audience and was followed by quiz and games. The program ended with a touching speech by a grandparent. Sri K Suresh, Principal and Smt. Kalyani N.P, Vice Principal, Sri Vishu, PTA President also partook of the function.

150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Gandhi Jayanthi on 2nd October 2019. The programme began with a prayer song by the school choir.  Neeraja N of Std. XII delivered a speech on 'The Impact of Gandhi's Life in Young Minds'. Going a step forward in helping the children understand all about the freedom struggle and the role of Mahatama Gandhi in helping us win our independence non-violently, students of various classes presented a skit and a tableau. Patriotic songs were rendered by the school choir.

The day ended with a thought in everybody's mind that service to mankind is the first step towards reaching it.

Bhavan’s Model United Nations 2019 came to a closure on 27th September 2019. In the two day conference, participants took roles as ambassadors from various countries. It gave students hands-on learning in international relations, diplomacy, and the United Nations.

The valedictory function was inaugurated by Dr. Varughese C. Abraham, Principal, Bhavan’s College of Arts and Commerce, Kakkanad. The prize for the Best Delegation was bagged by Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar.

B MUN 2019-2020

Bhavan’s Modal United Nations, a platform for speaking and expressing oneself to become a global leader, was inaugurated by Dr. Rajagopala Nair, Dean, Bhavan’s Royal Institute of Management on 25th September 2019.Principal, Sri K Suresh, Vice Principal, Smt. Kalyani N P and the PTA executive members were also present.

Nine schools in and around Kochi and 150 students are participating in the three day conference.

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated Onam, the festival of happiness, peace and prosperity with great ardour. The celebration was inaugurated by Shri Midhun Jayaraj, renowned Malayalam Play back singer and Music composer.

The arrival of Mahabali and Vamanan amid the beats of panchavadyam was well-received by the audience. Students of various classes presented a special programme highlighting the culture and tradition of Kerala. Onappattu, Naagapattu, Pulluvanpattu, Vanchipattu, Kummattikali, Vadakkanpattu, Krishipaattu, Mohiniyattom, Thiruvathirakali, Vallamkali, Pulikali and songs by teachers and students were the major attractions of the programme.

Smt.Kalyani N P, Vice Principal, Sri Vishu S, PTA President and the executive members of PTA were also present. The PTA distributed payasam in the school.

A Day for the Noblest Profession

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated Teacher's Day with zeal and zest on September 5, 2019. There was an unusual excitement in the school atmosphere.

The day started with the Morning Assembly which was conducted by the teachers. Shri S Joseph, Head of the Malayalam department, Maharajas College, Ernakulam inaugurated the celebration and spoke eloquently on the significance of the day and also on the catalytic role of a teacher in the holistic development of a student. Shri K. Suresh, Principal, delivered the Teacher's Day message. The students of class X sought the blessings of teachers by offering them 'Guru Dakshina'.

The PTA lauded the entire Adarsha fraternity with a memento for their exemplary contribution to the school's phenomenal success and also for moulding the future of India.

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated 'Janmashtami' or Sreekrishna Jayanthi with all passion and zealous on 26th August 2019.

The assembly was abuzz with speeches and songs to mark the occasion. A scintillating dance performance by students of Std. II, III &IV represented God Srikrishna's 'Leelas'. The solo instrumental performance by Master Vishal S J of Std.VII and Group Songs that show the devotion to Sreekrishna by school choir won the soul of spectators.

The presence of Lord Krishna was felt in the campus through the programmes held in the school

Ayu Club

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya in assossiation with Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala launched 'Ayu Club' on 27th August 2019 to familiarize the new generation with the notable contribution that Ayurveda has made to the evolution of our culture.

The Ayu Club opened for students of Std. VIII, IX & XI helps the children To know more about the sacred science of life – Ayurveda. This venture in school enables the  students identify various medicinal plants and  the developments happening in the Ayurveda field.

The function was formally inaugurated by  Dr. T M Unnikrishnan Warrier, Chief Medical Officer and Branch Manager, Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala  handing over a sapling to the Principal, Sri K Suresh and addressed the gathering about the benefits of Ayurveda. T C Nandakumar, Marketing Head and Alex C Eapen, Regional Sales Manager, Kottakal Arya Vaidya Sala were part of the programme.

Bhavan’s  Adarsha  Vidyalaya  got together to contribute towards flood  victims of Kerala. Together the school collected and donated essentials like - new sleeping mats, bed sheets, blankets, pillows, provisions etc .

These were handed over to Mr.Shajahan, Election Deputy Collector, at the Ernakulam District Administration Collection Centre on 19th July 2019.The staff from disaster management was also present for receiving the same.

Independence Day

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated the nation's 73rd Independence Day on August 15th 2019 with great pride.

Principal K Suresh hoisted the flag and addressed the gathering. Smt. Dhanya K R, Teacher, Social Science department delivered the Independence Day message. Vice Principal, Smt. Kalyani N P, PTA President, Sri Vishu S, the staff and students were present for the ceremony.

The PTA President spoke on the relevance of the day. The school choir sang patriotic songs and the NCC cadets rendered a song.

A one minute silence was observed for the departed souls of the flood affected regions.

The closure of the Ramayana Week celebrations in Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya was initiated by Sri Vishu V.S, PTA President on 20th July 2019. Ramayana parayanam by teachers and students and Bhajan by teachers and parents were the highlights of the day.

The dance drama, 'Seetha Swayamvaram' performed by the students was a visual treat.

Reviving tradition, culture and faith!

The auspicious month of Karkidakom was welcomed at Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya with devotional fervour. The week long celebration was inaugurated by Smt. Rajalakshmi Menon, renowned Malayalam writer. The chief guest enlightened the students by her speech on the relevance of ‘Ramayana’ in the world of fading value systems. Ramayana Parayanam by Amitha G and Sreepriya M of    Std IX, Bhajan by school choir and Story telling by Sayujya M Warrier of Std II added elegance to the devotional observance. Sri Vishu S, PTA President graced the occasion.

Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyala celebrated Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima ON 16th July 2019 to offer tribute to Gurus for unveiling the potential and purpose of their lives.

Smt. Renuka N Menon, Educational Officer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, Smt. Jaya Jacob, Research Wing Coordinator, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra and Smt. Radha Varma, Former Vice Principal, Bhavan’s News Print Vidyalaya, Vellor were the chief guests of the day. Vyshnav Jiju, the Junior Head Boy and Krishnapriya S, the Junior Head Girl performed ‘Guru Paduka Pooja’ to the guests in a divine atmosphere with the back drop of Vedic chanting. Students of Std.XII offered ‘Gurudakshina’ to all the teachers and sought their blessings. Smt. Jaya Jacob addressed the gathering by reminding the relevance of Guru in one’s life. Sri Vishu S , PTA President offered felicitations.

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21st to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. Yogini Smt. Sughandhi, was the chief guest for the day. She addressed the students and emphasized that Yoga is not an exercise but the discovery of the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. She also reminded the children that changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness can help in well being." There was a mass Yoga display in the morning assembly by students of various classes.

Reading Day

Reading books beyond the school is an important aspect of education.To stress on the same point, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated Reading Day on June 19th 2019. Sri Vaikom Ramachandran, a well known Malayalam poet and lyricist inaugurated the celebration. The chief guest addressed the studentsand  pointed out how books formed the base for cementing the values in society and stressed on the selection of good books for reading.

The most auspicious ceremonial occasion of the school, Investiture ceremony was held in Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidylaya on 12th June 2019.The newly elected office bearers were entrusted with hope,faith and the mantle of responsibility. Master Nirmal Nandakumar Menon badged the position of Senior Head Boy and Kumari.Dhwani M S Potty as the Senior Head Girl.

World Environment Day 2019

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated World Environment day with a plantation drive on 6 June 2019.

Dr. BijoyNandan, HOD Marine Biology (CUSAT) inaugurated the celebration and urged every student and faculty member to join hands in fighting the global menace of environment degradation. He also reminded the gathering that everyone must take ownership of their environment and actively engage in the protection of Mother Earth.

Students and faculty members of the school planted saplings on the premises in order to send the message of environment consciousness and Indian philosophy of co-existence with nature to other. Wild life Photographer, Shri.Shaji Mathilakam conversed with students about his exciting and thrilling real life experience with nature.

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya ,Kakkanad observed National Science Day in its true spirit.Dr.Sreeja Narayanan ,UGC-DSK Fellow Dept.of Biotechnology,CUSAT was the guest of the day.She addressed the students and urged them to be inquisitive in life.The Dept.of Science organised a few programmes in connection with the same.The students displayed placards bearing the elements in the Modern Periodic Table.A few students from grade VIII were taken to visit the science exhibition conducted at CUSAT.Principal Shri.K.Suresh and the Vice Principal Smt.Kalyani N.P.were also present on the occasion.

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, celebrated the PTA Day in all its spirit and glory. Shri. Anantha Padmanabhan , Creative Producer, Asianet, inaugurated the function and addressed the gathering. Sri.Oommen VJ, PTA President, delivered the address of welcome. Shri. K. The Teachers and parents jointly displayed their intrinsic talents in novel ways through their dynamism and boundless energy. The parents of the students who were awarded the titles of 'Best Behaviour' and 'Caring and Sharing' were felicitated. A Science, Art and Craft exhibition which showcased the innovations and creativity of the students also received much appreciation. Sri. E. Ramankutty Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra and Smt. Kalyani N.P, the Vice Principal graced the occasion.

When the nation celebrated its 70th Republic Day at the Capital, Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya too celebrated the occasion with grandeur and solemnity. The function started off with a march past by the NCC and the school band with splendor. The Principal, Sri. K Suresh, hoisted the flag and Smt Lathika of the Social Science Dept. gave the message. A few cultural programmes were showcased by the eight Houses which included a mime, popular patriotic songs and a chronological presentation of all the Indian Presidents since independence. The Vice Principal, Smt. Kalyani N. P and the PTA President, Sri Oommen V. J. were present too.

Annual Day Celebrations

The 30th Annual Day of the school was celebrated on 16th January with great pomp and show. The primary and secondary programmes were inaugurated by Sri Vijay Menon and Dr C V Anand Bose IAS  respectively. The Chief Guests addressed the gathering. The toppers of AISSCE and AISSE were honoured on the occasion. The audience was visibly impressed by the impeccable performances showcased by the students across the different grades. The vibrant events comprised  a dance drama, fashion show, skit, various dances and so on. The entire school participated whole heartedly towards the grand success of the event. Adarsha Cup lnter school Football Tournament was inaugurated at Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad.Shri.Walter Antony ,former Santhosh Trophy football player,was the Chief Guest.He addressed the gathering and declared the tournament open by kicking off the ball.Shri.K.Suresh, Principal and Shri.V.J.Oommen,PTA president were present.

The students of Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya Kakkanad, were entranced by the traditional dance form Chhau, an Indian dance with martial, tribal and folk origins of Odisha, Jharkand and West Bengal. The dance was jointly organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra and SPIC MACAY. The staff and the students got an opportunity to witness the enthralling art form which was performed by Tarapada Rajak and his crew.  Sri Unni Warrier, President, SPIC MACAY, Sri Unnikrishnan, Director, Amrita College, Sri Rajmohan Varma, Kalabharati Coordinator, the Principal Sri. K Suresh and the Vice Principal Smt Kalyani N P were present.

Kerala Piravi Celebrations

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated ‘Kerala Piravi’ with a lot of enthusiasm and vigor. The Chief Guest of the day, Sri E. Ramankutty, Director, BVB and Sri. Rajmohan Varma, Co-ordinator, Kalabharati, were present for the occasion. The secondary and higher secondary students got an opportunity to witness the temple art form 'Nagabhagavathy Theyyam', performed by Kozhikode Sri.Srinivaasan and his team. The entire school was enthralled by the spectacular performance. Smt. Meera, Teacher, F.A Dept. of the school, performed  Mohiniyatom for the students of the primary classes. Sri K. Suresh, Principal , Smt Kalyani N.P, Vice Principal, PTA President Sri.V J Oommen , all the teachers and students of the school were treated to a traditional celebration in all its splendour.

Reading week

Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad observes reading week from 15th Nov to 19th Nov 2018. The weeklong celebration was inaugurated by Shri Biju C.P, Chief Sub- Editor, Mathrubhumi,Kochi.

The chief guest addressed the students and spoke on the importance of cultivating reading habits among children. He also urged the students to explore the world of books. A Malayalam skit was staged by the students.The Vice-Principal,Smt. Kalyani N P and the P.T.A. President, Shri. V.J Ommen graced the occasion.

Annual Sports Meet

Bhavan's Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, celebrated its Annual Sports Meet. The Chief Guest, Mr. Tinu Yohanan, former Indian Cricketer, declared the Sports Meet open and addressed the gathering. A march past by the eight houses of the school was conducted, followed by the flag hoisting. The much anticipated moment was the arrival of the Sports Torch borne by the Senior Sports Captain. A very solemn oath taking was administered by the students. Adarsha witnessed yet another proud moment when the students, Chinmayi Mukundan, Representative of India, Commonwealth games, Karate and Archana Varghese, Representative of Kerala, Sub Junior Badminton were felicitated. A very spectacular display was put up to showcase the chronological history of Kerala. Aerobics, yoga and karate performances by the students added colour to the event. The Principal,Sri Suresh K, PTA President, Sri V J Ommen were also present.

Environment Day Celebrations 2018 – 2019

Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya celebrated World Environment Day with great fervor . Programmes were held in connection with World Environment Day. The Chief Guest Mr C.MRoy, Retired Associate Professor, Botany Dept. , Sacred Heart College, Thevara spoke on environment protection.
 Nived. N.Kumar of Class VI recited a poem. Students of classes 3 and 4 performed an action
song.The Chief Guest presented a sapling to the class representatives of III and IV . He planted a
sapling himself. Saplings ,Paper pen and pencils were distributed to the students of classes IV
and V
The Principal Sri Suresh  and Vice Principal Smt Kalyani N P  joined the tree planting programme.

GURU PURNIMA - A DAY TO PAY OBEISANCE TO GURUS

Programmes in connection with Guru Poornima was held on 27 th of july. Dr Hemalatha HOD of Malayalam Dept. spoke on the importance of the day. Educational officer Mrs.Meena Viswanath was the Chief Guest.Padapooja was
done by students of 12 th Std to their Gurus. Guru Dakshina was given to all the teachers.

Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya witnessed its formal Investiture Ceremony on 13 th June 2018. The responsibility of leading the school rest on Nikhil Biju Menon, Senior Head Boy, Parvathy Nidhuna Narayanan, Senior Head Girl, Junior Head Boy, Nitin A P and Junior Head Girl, Aishwarya Ramesh. The School Parliament also includes all the Captains and Vice Captains of eight various Houses.
The children were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school from the front. The oath affirmed their commitment to the institution.

The auspicious month of  Karkkadakom was celebrated at Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya with grandeur. The   week – long celebration was held  and guests addressed the students on the significance  of this month. The Ramayana Parayanam was done by students of class of varoius houses and competitions were also held in connection with the Ramayana week.

On 27/09/2017, the seventh day of the Navarathri Celebrations, Bhavan’sAdarshaVidyalaya,Kakkanad presented the musical recital ‘SAPTHARAAGARASAM’ which elevated the audience to a high realm of divinity.It was followed by the dance drama ‘BHAKTHA PRAHLADHA’ staged by the students which symbolised the ultimate triumph of good over evil. The chairman Shri Venugopal.C.Govind, Director Shri E.Ramankutty,Principals of various schools and several other distinguished guests graced the occasion with their presence.

Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya offered their former student Mr. Siddharth . B, who secured 15th rank in the Civil Service Examination. The school Principal Shri. Suresh. K, honoured him with a ponnada and senior teacher  Smt. Ramya Das, Dept. of Physics, felicitated him. He addressed the gathering and had an interactive session with classes  ?  IX, X, XI and XII.

Independence Day Celebrations 2017 -2018

Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya,Kakkanad celebrated India’s 71st Independence Day with much fervour this year. The tri – colour national flag was hoisted by  the Principal Mr.K.Suresh at 8.00 am in the school campus. He enlightened the students and the audience by sharing a few words on patriotism. He reminded the toil and sufferings undergone by our freedom fighters to achieve the fruit of freedom we enjoy today and stressed the responsibility of each of us as the citizens of India. The message of the day  was  delivered by Ms Komala Menon HOD of the Social Science Dept. The School choir rendered patriotic songs. The  students of various houses presented skits which enabled the audience to witness the freedom struggle and not to forget the respect and responsibility to our nation. Sweets were distributed.

On this auspicious occasion ,the former PTA President Shri Sajeev T.A handed over the Key of mini van purchased for the school by the PTA and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan  to the Director of BVB, Kochi Kendra. This  fulfilled the cherished ambition of the school fraternity to own a Mini Van to meet the emergencies arising at the school.A napkin vending machine and a bin also was handed over by one of our parents, Mr.Binoy ,member of Lion’s Club District 318 c to Shri E .Ramankutty. The  present PTA President Mr P V Sajeev,former PTA President Mr Sajeev T.A members of the Lion’s Club District 318 c,Mr .Binoy and Mr.Joseph  Basil addressed the gathering .Smt Parvathy E ,the Vice Principal proposed the vote of thanks.
